Welcome to Moss & Moon! I’m Marissa, and I couldn’t be more excited to have you here. My passion lies in creating a warm and inviting space that feels like a true home away from home, where every client who steps through the door feels appreciated, comfortable, and relaxed. I originally come from New York, where I earned my cosmetology license from the prestigious Austin School of Spa Technology. After honing my skills NY, I took the leap and moved to South Carolina in 2015. As I navigated career, I have been committed to enhancing my expertise, obtaining numerous advanced education certificates from celebrated brands such as Goldwell, Masters of Balayage, Matrix, CHI, Framesi, Orbie, Kerailk and Ashlee Norman. I had the wonderful opportunity to attend the Goldwell Academy in NYC, where I proudly earned my Master Colorist level and certification as a blonding & color specialist. Furthermore, I am certified in hand-tied, K-tip, and tape-in extensions. My passion for hair is profound, and I treasure every moment I spend with my clients. Your happiness is my utmost priority, so I warmly invite you to sit in my chair, and together, let’s create the hair of your dreams. I can’t wait to embark on this journey with you!

At Moss & Moon Hair Loft, we offer expert women’s, men’s, and children’s haircuts, curtain bangs, dry cuts, and custom color services including all-over color, root glaze, color refresh, full and partial blonding, lived-in looks, and vivid transformations. We also provide deep treatments like K18, Olaplex, glossing, and L'Oréal Metal Detox, plus brow tinting, facial waxing, scalp massage, hair tinsel, bridal trials, event styling, and wedding day hair. Every service is delivered with care in our Columbia, SC salon.

Have gone to many salons in Columbia and had sub-par experiences, but knew immediately by the way that the staff at Moss and Moon engaged me and by their demonstrated knowledge that this experience was going to be different. Nicole has years of experience cutting and styling hair - she knew exactly the techniques and styles that would work with my hair type, which is very thin and straight. She’s done hair all across the country, unlike many of the stlyists I’ve seen in Columbia that are exposed to a very narrow set of clientele/hairstyles. The salon itself is also gorgeous - exposed brick with bohemian-esque decor. Good hairstylists are a dime a dozen, and I feel fortunate I’ve finally found one in Cola. I’m in love with my hair and will be back!

This place is amazing! I’ve had two hair cuts here since discovering them, and they both have been a wonderful experience! I only moved to Columbia in the past year and a half, so was hesitant to try new places.
I completely changed my hairstyle in my first visit with Marissa. She gave me an awesome undercut/side shave which I love! She cut it exactly as I had imagined it and made sure she was only cutting what I wanted cut.
The second time, I had a solid few inches of hair trimmed by Sarah, who also cut my hair exactly as I wanted and was very kind! I loved talking with her! Definitely get your hair cut here!

During my consultation you gave me all the assurance I needed to know that you were going to take care of me and do it with perfection. The results were just what you promised. Perfection….it was scary enough going all gray but you made the end results just beautiful and I trusted you every bit of the way.
